In 2004, the enchanting Brad Bird cartoon The Incredibles won the hearts of the audience and won the well-deserved Oscar. After so many years, almost no one had hoped for a sequel ... But then the director decided to return to the animation and shoot the second part. As they say, better late than never!
"The Incredibles 2" (Incredibles 2) starts exactly at the moment that ended the first film 14 years ago. A friendly team of Parrov and Frion are trying to prevent a crazy villain from robbing a bank in a giant drilling machine. Unfortunately, good intentions lead superheroes to the police: half a city is in ruins, but the criminal still disappeared with money. The government decides to ban the activities of superheroes. Bob, Helen, Violet, Shastik and Jack-Jack are in a depressing position: without a house, without money and without prospects.
Help comes from an unexpected angle. The wealthy owner of a successful technology corporation, Winston Devor, an ardent fan of superheroes, has found a way to regain the lost trust of ordinary people and politicians. Together with their sister Evelyn, they drew up a plan for a public relations company, the purpose of which is to show the difficult everyday life of the so-called super inside, to make a kind of reality show that rehabilitates them. Appointed as the main star ... Elastic! Mr. Exceptional, as analysis has shown, does too much damage.
While the wife is working to regain authority to all superheroes and gaining unprecedented ratings, Bob remains to sit with the children ... Moreover, a new dangerous supervillain Ekranotiran appears on the horizon.
Returning to the world of your favorite cartoon is a real pleasure for fans of The Incredibles. The new film, although it does not take a break between the events of the first and second parts, creates the latter, taking into account not only the most modern technologies, but also the most relevant and burning social problems and trends. The “women's issue” is actively on the agenda - the focus of attention is shifting to the female character, repeating the trend of great feature films .
Yes, yes, it turns out that an ordinary wife and mother every day copes with what is beyond the power of a superhero - with everyday life and children. And Helen is far from an ordinary housewife. Bob, displaced from the usual place of the earner, suddenly realizes that Elastika does criminals no worse ... Or maybe even better than him (and certainly more accurately). But he can not cope with the mathematics of his eldest son, deal with the unhappy love of his daughter and keep track of the youngest. The plot of the second “The Incredibles” is rather cruel to the strong half of humanity: although the head of the family finally gets the opportunity to do the usual rescue and heroism, he is not rehabilitated with household fails. Just some kind of triumph of feminism!
For the rest, we find everything for which we went to the second film: a lot of cool jokes, the dynamic development of your favorite characters and the emergence of new ones, a non-trivial and very warm look at family relationships, excellent graphics and a unique style, an urgent main antihero whose philosophical speeches about the problems of modern society fall right on target. The only thing that does not allow us to put the maximum score for the sequel is the almost complete absence of intrigue: the watched spectator calculates too quickly who is hiding under the mask of Ekranotiran.
- The return of your favorite characters.
- The consistent development of their characters.
- The emergence of new interesting superheroes.
- Stylish and very relevant villain.
- A man on the farm is very funny.
- Great jokes.
- Jack Jack and his first 17 abilities.
- Edna is revealed from an unexpected angle.
- The detective line is rather weak, there is no intrigue.
- There is no need to talk about gender equality - women are more equal. We are proud of the ladies, but aren't even the superhero able to replace her spouse on the domestic front? Sadness.
