The Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker comes in a white cardboard box with the company logo. On the side are written characteristics in Chinese. The low price affected the delivery set - inside there was a place only for a small manual and, in fact, the speaker itself.
The column is a small cylinder with perforations in the form of small holes on top. The speaker housing is made of metal, on which there are no fingerprints. The edges on the Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker are polished just like it is on the iPhone 5S. The column is placed in the hand, which makes it very convenient to carry, and thanks to the rubberized lower part, the device does not slip on most surfaces. Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker is available in three, already standard, color solutions: gold, black and silver. We have a silver version on the review that goes well with the MacBook.
On the side there is a small hole for the lace and nothing more. The only control element - a multifunctional power button - was placed at the bottom. A short press, as usual, pauses, a long press turns the column on or off. Also on the bottom is a MicroUSB connector for charging and a small LED. The latter, in addition to displaying the charge level, blinks blue when pairing with the device and red if the speaker is not connected to anything. When you turn on / off the device produces a characteristic sound. The Xiaomi logo was placed only on the bottom - because of this, the column looks minimalistic and fits into almost any interior.
The manufacturer assures 4 hours of battery life, but the volume is not specified. In practice, the results vary. When used at maximum volume, Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker lasted about 3 hours, on average - 6 hours 35 minutes. In general, we can say that the Chinese did not lie about battery life, and given the small battery capacity (only 300 mAh), you can even praise them.
We move on to the main and main component of the review of any speaker - to the sound. Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker is equipped with one 2 W speaker, which produces a loud but dull sound. The speaker is not very suitable for rock and alternative, but it does a good job with vocals. If you like to listen to the whole range of musical instruments used to record a track, Xiaomi's creation is clearly not for you. I used the Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker as a portable sound source when watching YouTube videos on a MacBook and I can say that the column copes with this perfectly. Close to the smartphone, the connection is good, the signal is not lost, but if you move 5-6 meters away, jamming occurs or playback stops altogether.
Xiaomi Portable Bluetooth Speaker boasts a loud, but not the highest quality sound and a stylish metal case. Grieves battery life and a poor kit. However, all claims fade into the background, if you recall the price and look at the dimensions of the column.
