In addition to external differences, the Pro version hides improved functionality. We will sometimes compare two devices during the review.

The form factor of the box in which the smartphone is delivered does not differ from the “younger” version: the same elegant black matte cardboard, only PRO letters are added except for the glossy “X” and the silver name of the smartphone.
The inside of the package protrudes slightly from the outside. Inside it, the smartphone itself is sandwiched between the wall and a paper box with accessories.
The internal equipment is as minimalistic as the Aquaris X: 5V 3A charger, 1 m USB Type-C cable, user manual, warranty card, key for SIM card compartment. Headphones are not included.
At first, it might seem that there are no external differences between the Aquaris X and Aquaris X Pro, however, taking a closer look, you understand that these are completely two different phones. Aquaris X Pro with its appearance inspires a sense of luxury. The main difference between the Pro version and the usual Aquaris X is that its metal case is covered with glass on both sides: the front is rounded 2.5D glass, and the back is NEG Dinorex T2X-1 Glass.
The location of the sensors and buttons is the same: the notification color LED that is completely invisible when turned off, the flash, the earpiece, the camera and the light sensor are above the screen, below it are touch-sensitive, non-illuminated chrome hardware buttons, the central one looks like the logo of the manufacturer.
On the rear panel in the corner is the main camera with a dual-LED flash, below is a fairly large fingerprint scanner, a gold BQ logo and model name, and the CE marking below.
The side edges of gold color emphasize the stylish design of the smartphone. At the top, the manufacturer placed a 3.5 mm jack and a microphone that connects to work during video recording.
On the left is a slot for SIM cards and memory cards.
On the right are the volume and power buttons.
At the bottom there is a second microphone that acts as a spoken microphone, a port for charging a USB-C device and the holes of the main speaker.
The general form factor has remained the same, but holding the Aquaris X Pro in your hand is much more convenient and enjoyable. Oddly enough, unlike the "younger brother" this phone does not slip out of hand and is convenient to take from the table.
As in the Aquaris X, the Pro version is equipped with a 5.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of FullHD 1920x1080. The pixel density is 424 ppi. The glass that covers the entire front panel has an oleophobic effect.
We already admired the quality of the transmitted image by this screen, but, again, the level of color reproduction, depth and clarity of the image is very high quality, due to the high density, the pixels do not ripple and do not stand out separately.
The screen is very bright. For those who don’t have enough, in the settings you can turn on “enhanced brightness” (and go blind, setting the maximum level).
The screen response is minimal, up to 10 touches are recognized at the same time.
The filling of the Aquaris X Pro is not much different from the younger model. At the head is the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 2.2 GHz.
Despite the average performance in benchmarks, using a smartphone is very pleasant, all the actions performed without delay, the picture is smooth, it is very convenient to read the text while scrolling.
The 650 MHz Qualcomm Adreno 506 graphics chip copes well with all games and produces a picture of not the best quality, but no less attractive.
BQ Aquaris X Pro, unlike Aquaris X, is equipped with 4 (3.5) GB of RAM and an increased maximum available internal memory of 128 GB. The reason for such an upgrade is difficult to assume, but it is worth admitting that this is more than a “pleasant trifle”, it’s even psychologically more pleasant to realize that there is enough memory for every whim - from extensive multitasking to downloading your favorite movies and music with almost no limits.
The sample that came to our review had 64 (in fact 58.24) GB of memory, but we managed to fill up a little more than 17 GB. For those who do not have enough space, a microSD card slot, combined with a SIM card slot, is useful.
The fingerprint scanner very pleasantly surprised us already when I was acquainted with the BQ Aquaris X. The Pro version uses the same Goodix FP sensor, whose diameter and location on the back panel are perfect for any finger, and coupled with a fast processor, recognition is almost instant.
The situation with the software is the same as in Aquaris X. Fans of untouched Android developers will like the seventh version of the most popular operating system installed “out of the box”. Of the additional applications - only useless electronic insurance that does not extend its effect to the Russian Federation.
You can get a plate into which two nanoSIM format SIM cards, or one SIM card and a microSD memory card, can be easily inserted using the supplied “key”. 4G support is available for both SIM cards, but you can only use the Internet using one of them. Switching between them is very convenient, especially if the user is constantly roaming in Russia and only occasionally "looks" into the home region.
Each time comparing two almost identical models, you expect some minor flaws in one that are missing in the other. This is definitely not the story of the Aquaris X Pro. Earlier we wrote about the outstanding performance of the Wi-Fi and GPS module. Here they work just as flawlessly. Wi-Fi perfectly holds signal and speed, and GPS very quickly finds itself in the vastness of our vast homeland. So, GPS Test showed 30 satellites, of which 20 immediately began to be used as leading.
Establish fast communication with various wireless devices, as well as contactlessly pay for purchases, helps the built-in NFC-module.
SoundAnother lotion that distinguishes the BQ Aquaris X Pro from the competition is that it is not visible externally, and we considered it our duty to talk about the ESS Saber ES9118 audio chip built into this wonderful unit. ESS Technology is an American company, since 1983 focusing on the development of sound technologies and the creation of audio chips for amplifiers, players, etc. Thanks to the competent use of these technologies, BQ Aqusris X Pro will be able to satisfy the taste of even the most sophisticated fans of different musical genres. Naturally, do not forget about the AptX audio codec, designed specifically for listening to music in lossless formats through audio devices connected via Bluetooth.
You don’t have to talk about the main and conversational speakers and the microphone for a long time - they do their job perfectly: there is a loud signal, and noise reduction works fine.
The 3,100 mAh lithium-ion battery powers the BQ Aquaris X Pro for an entire day, in the words of motorists, "in a mixed cycle." You can quickly charge your smartphone, thanks to a charger with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge version 3.0. The phone was half charged in 40 minutes, and charging up to 100% generally took about an hour and a half. During charging, the smartphone heats up quite a lot, so experts do not advise covering the phones during charging, this one is definitely not desirable, a strong overheating is possible.Trashbox.ru battery test results:

The device entered into a battle with our battery test from Treshbox version 2.0, and showed him decent resistance, lasting 6 hours 19 minutes.
The Samsung S5K2L7 sensor is used as the main camera in the BQ Aquaris X Pro, ISOCELL type, 12 MP, f / 1.8 aperture (recall that the BQ Aquaris X uses the Sony IMX298 Exmor RS, CMOS, 16 MP sensor, but with f / aperture 2.0).
Aperture is responsible for the photosensitivity of the lens. The lower the aperture value, the more light passes through the lens, which means photos are better at low light levels. The Aquaris X Pro camera lens consists of 5 elements. Focusing is very fast thanks to Dual Pixel technology - an improved phase detection autofocus that uses not 5-10% pixels, but all 100%. In low light conditions, a two-diode flash helps out well.

The front camera is the same as the Aquaris X - Samsung S5K4H8YX sensor, 8 megapixels. type: CMOS BSI (backslide illumination), pixel size: 0.98 μm, aperture: f / 2.0, equipped with an LED flash.
Face Improvement mode covers up imperfections and causes blush.
The front camera shoots video in 720p and 1080p, 30 or 60 frames per second.
Summary and Conclusions
Like any advanced modification, the Aquaris X Pro has similarities with the younger version: an excellent screen, a convenient metal case with rounded edges, excellent cameras and a tenacious battery with the ability to quickly charge. Having faced the choice between the regular and the Pro version, the main arguments in favor of the second are: an excellent case design with a glass back panel, an increased amount of RAM and internal memory, Samsung cameras with a good aperture and Dual Pixel autofocus, an audio chip from ESS Technologies. the price difference is about 5-7 thousand rubles. The choice, of course, remains with the buyer and his preferences, but one is clear from this review - the BQ Aquaris X Pro is a stylish, modern functional smartphone worthy to be on par with the main flagships of the mobile electronics industry.Pros:
- Stylish case design,
- Great camera quality
- The ability to quickly charge the battery,
- High-brightness, high-brightness display
- Fingerprint Reader
Final rating: 7 out of 10.
