Hello gentlemen. As a user of Windows Phone 7.5, I decided to write this article in order to clarify the pros and cons of this wonderful system from Microsoft. Let's start.Interface
At first, I considered the Metro interface a bacchanal of inconvenient interfaces, but after I first picked up the Omnia M smartphone on WP, I took my words back. For clarification of the advantages of Metro, I want to say thanks to mc_zz. Metro is easy to use, intuitive and runs smoothly, in principle, did not notice any complaints.Apps and games
Yes, many people think that this system does not have a lot of content compared to Android or iOS. This is not at all true. Windows Phone has enough games and applications, even the famous Angry Birds, Cut The Rope or Doodle Jump are, but, unfortunately, Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies are not. There is a Marketplace application store from which you can conveniently download applications or games. the Internet
Many used Internet Explorer for desktop Windows and they didn’t like me, for example. For WP, this browser is also standard and not bad enough. It supports animations, HTML5, online games and much more, but the Treshbox editor, unfortunately, is not supported.
The IE interface is clear and fairly simple, there are "Favorites". Navigation
Microsoft's Bing cards are left to wait for the best, but there is something good in them, namely that there is offline navigation, a simple interface. And just like in Google Maps. But here the names of cities are not shown in Russian - this is a very big minus. The convenience of use
I am completely satisfied with this, Windows Phone, as for me, is very convenient. At the same time, up to 8 applications can be launched in the system. To switch between applications, you need to hold the back button.Microsoft Office Mobile
This gives WP an edge over Android. The best office suite is for this platform, combining OneNote Mobile, Excel Mobile, Word Mobile and other functions in one piece. For office work, Windows Phone in this regard makes other platforms. Cons of the system
Unfortunately, there were some flaws. Among them are:
- The lack of Bluetooth transmission, this requires hacking. It can only be used to connect a headset.
- No widgets. On Android, I was very pleased.
And finally - the hardware requirements. They are, so to speak, demanding, but not quite. Support at least 2 touches on the screen (up to 5 touches are supported on my Omnia M). My version of WP is quite old (7.5), so I'm going to upgrade to the official update to version 7.8, if it does, I trust the custom only on Android. For smartphones with Windows Phone, updates are much more common than on Android.
And so, in general, Windows Phone is an excellent choice for the user of mobile devices.
