Hello, friends! After a fairly long break, I return to writing articles with TOP'ami program of various categories for the Android operating system. This time you will find an article with a selection of the best RSS-clients for your smartphones and tablets with a "green robot" on board. Read more under the cut .
It is worth noting that after the closure of the Google Reader service, mobile readers and not only literally began to grow like mushrooms after the rain. Now no one recalls the late Google service, since in recent times there have been a great many RSS clients that are in many ways superior to Reader, but still some minimalism and convenience are still lacking.
At the moment, Feedly is the most convenient and affordable mobile RSS client for a simple user, although I do not use it. The Android application for this service has a very smooth and beautiful interface, its own server part, which processes your news feeds, built-in RSS-catalog, as well as quite good functionality.
Also, this program allows you to compile various folders with ribbons, catalog them and sort them. It is worth noting that in Feedly you can fully read articles, if they are not very large, the text is displayed conveniently and quite readable. To mark articles, there is a special button for adding to the Saved for Later folder. In my opinion, the main feature of this application is the branded scrolling of articles, which is distinguished by some special smoothness and beautiful animations. You can download Feedly for free on Google Play .
Perhaps the most underrated and not-so-popular RSS feed reader is NewsBlur. This service is quite young, and it appeared immediately after the death of Google Reader. In addition to an excellent minimalistic and convenient web version, NewsBlur has its own mobile application for the Android operating system. This program can provide you with a fairly good interface, although not optimized for large displays and resolutions, good article display, the ability to create folders and other sortings.
Besides the simple ability to read RSS feeds, NewsBlur is also a small social network where premium users can comment on articles and their comments will be displayed to other users. You and other users can also share articles - a kind of mechanism for exchanging materials between people. The service, like the application, is quite good and you can always use it. You can download NewsBlur for free on Google Play .
After the two previous full-featured RSS readers, it's time for gloss and recommendation services. You probably could have guessed that we are talking about Flipboard, which is a fully mobile article reading service. I must say right away that Flipboard does not provide you with the full-fledged ability to add your own tapes, catalog them and sort them, but instead you can find a convenient interface, smooth animations and beautiful display of materials here.
In addition, Flipboard is partly a recommendation application that, based on your tastes and preferences, offers you the materials of various sites and portals. This can be useful for those people who are always looking for something new to read. The recommendation base and the Flipboard catalog contain quite a lot of tapes and sources, even in Russian. We also need to mention the ability to connect social network accounts, materials from which you can also read. You can download Flipboard for free on Google Play .
4. LinkedIn Pulse
This RSS reader from the developers of the popular professional social network is very similar to the predecessor in this article. LinkedIn Pulse is a Flipboard-like program that provides you with its own catalog of sources and feeds. However, in Pulse you have the opportunity to read materials from any site, simply by typing in the name of it in the search.
Also on LinkedIn Pulse, too, users can comment on articles, like and share them, which is pretty good. The materials in the application are displayed quite fully and not bad, so you can read them. The application interface is pretty good, but there aren’t enough stars from the sky. Download LinkedIn Pulse for free on Google Play .
5. News +
Another full-fledged RSS alternative is the News + application, which may well become your daily and main reader, because it has almost all the basic functions: online feed synchronization, its own source catalog, cataloging and sorting, offline reading of articles, reading mode, as well as good optimization for tablets.
In addition, you can be pleased with such interesting features as voice-activated playback of titles, which is convenient when you have headphones and you don’t want to read the titles, and the program also has widgets that can be displayed on the desktop. In general, the application is quite functional and even in many ways unique. Download News + for free on Google Play .
6. Google Media
Well, the last place in this digest will be an application from Google, which, in part, replaced Google Reader. The Google Media program has changed several times, and now it is a catalog of sources of materials authorized by the "good corporation", as well as a pretty good reader of articles with a minimalistic interface.
The program from Google doesn’t have any functionality, but it’s quite suitable for reading. There is nothing much more to say about this application, since it is rather small and allows you only to read materials from the provided catalog. Recently, Google Media has again transformed into Google Press, but the essence of this has not changed. It is worth noting that in the Google directory for this program there is a Treshbox tape. You can download Google Media for free on Google Play .
All programs in this TOP'e are full-fledged and their position in the article is in no way connected with the functionality, with the exception, perhaps, of the last program, which is really not very functional. Stay on the Treshbox, you will be waiting for a few more articles about the TOPs of applications of various categories.
