One of such soft and comfortable chairs was provided for review by the Tesoro brand, which was remembered by a line of keyboards named after the legendary swords. The gaming chairs of the company are not named so intricately. The Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 model was delivered for the test, not the most expensive in the range, but positioned as ideal for long gaming sessions.
If after this review you want to get a new product, I conjure it, do not save on delivery. The box with the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 is large. No not like this. It is huge, from a distance it will pass for the packaging of a single-chamber refrigerator. In addition, with a weight of about 30 kilograms, of which about 25 are content, the box does not have pens.
Of course, the chair comes disassembled. Separate elements are pulled into a protective film and laid by sheets of foamed polyethylene, there is no doubt about the protective qualities of the package.
There are not many components: wheels made of polyurethane that does not scratch the parquet, reinforced metal “crosspiece”, a piston or a smart “gas lift”, a seat with screwed armrests, a mechanism for adjusting its tilt, backrest, plastic plugs and a pair of pillows, which I will tell you about separately.
The assembly instructions for the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 are clear and simple. Even an additional tool is not needed. In a blister with a set of fasteners lies a hexagon screwdriver suitable for them. Just follow the visual instructions and in half an hour, if not faster, the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 will be at your table.
Externally, the chair repeats the design of the sports car seat. The same covering elements on the sides, deep landing, embossing reminiscent of a wheel tread. So I want to get a wheel, a VR-helmet and plunge headlong into a racing simulator.
The main material of the upholstery, of course, is not rubber, but the so-called eco-leather made of soft polyurethane. A light chemical odor emanates from it, which quickly disappears. With it, the only way to distinguish a coating from a natural one disappears. In terms of texture and durability, eco-leather is similar to ordinary leather, and it does not upset the Greenpeace.
Seams, joints, inscriptions “Tesoro” and “Break the Rules”, logos are stitched neatly. Metal parts have been carefully crafted. There are no “burrs”, sharp edges or traces of grease on them. The only thing that they forgot to remove is the burr on the plastic elements of the armrests.
The design of the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 seems reliable. The nodes that account for the main load are steel, including the seat frame. Gas lift, according to the specifications from the manufacturer’s website, can withstand up to 120 kg.
From objective observations I will turn to subjective impressions. But how else, if we go further on ergonomics?
At first, the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 seems uncomfortable. No wonder, because the chair should be adjusted. This is done with a pair of pens that you can reach without getting up. One lever is responsible for the height, the second fixes the seat angle within 15 degrees.
A rotary adjuster between the handles controls the spring resistance of the swing mechanism. It is worth loosening it, and the seat will tilt much easier and vice versa.
The height of the chair is adjustable from 44 cm to 52 cm. This means that if your height is less than 170 cm, the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 will be tall.
Another point that necessarily requires adjustment, if you have a small growth, is the landing depth. Here the convenience is provided by a pillow placed under the lower back. It is firmly fixed in place with a fastex tape. The pillow is made of foam with shape memory effect and really perfectly supports the back.
Side “wings” provide an even landing, which should have a positive effect on posture. The second foam pillow under the neck in my case immediately turned out to be where it was needed.
You can immediately pass the gum through the hole and secure it at the back, as in the photo, or you can vice versa, throw the gum on top and place the plastic stopper directly under the pillow. Practice has shown that the second option is preferable. In this case, the pillow almost does not budge, while in the first one it gradually stumbles to one side.
The armrests are mounted on thick metal rails and are freely adjustable in three axes: in height, move back and forth and rotate left and right. In addition, the width at which they are located also varies, but for this you need to work with a complete screwdriver.
Although the armrests are not upholstered in eco-leather, they are not solid at all, as they are made of soft polyurethane.
The play is minimal. But there is one nuance for the amateur - fixing the angle of rotation is not rigid. If you are used to moving the chair, holding on to the armrest, then it moves. In fact, this was done so that during arm movements, the armrests would follow your movements, as it were, providing constant emphasis.
Finally, about the “killer feature” of any self-respecting gaming chair - adjusting the angle of the backrest. Frankly, the first time I pulled the lever and leaned back, I was afraid that I would fall.
I forgot to fix the seat, and another 180 degrees was added to 180 degrees of backrest. I literally ended upside down, but, to the credit of the designers, the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 did not lose stability even with such an extremely large slope.
The back is fixed in any intermediate position, and itself, quite sharply, returns to the vertical position. In the fully reclined position, lying is surprisingly comfortable. You can even take a nap on the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730.
At first, I was skeptical of gaming chairs, but I spent a lot of time in the Tesoro Zone Evolution F730 and probably tried all the poses imaginable. Now I say with confidence that a comfortable chair is not a waste of money.
All the adjustments available here are useful to fine-tune the chair to the parameters of your body, and all adjustments are performed smoothly, and you can choose and fix, for example, the necessary angle of the backrest to the nearest degree. Unless I would like to see a larger range of seat height adjustment, and the arm restraints would not hurt.
The Zone Evolution F730 armchair looks discreet and can fit into any interior, despite the fact that individual design elements distinguish the Tesoro product from the usual and boring office chairs.
- Materials and workmanship;
May not like:
- Small height adjustment range.
- No locks on the armrests.
