The JVC brand became known to residents of the CIS countries with the fall of the Iron Curtain, when high-quality and inexpensive equipment poured into the open market. At that time, the company specialized in televisions, VCRs, camcorders, and other consumer electronics. Particular attention was paid to audio technology: stereo systems, car radios, tape recorders, headphones. Today, we got to our review the modern wireless JVC HA-S70BT-B headphones. Packaging and delivery
The cardboard box JVC HA-S70BT-B has received strict design in gray-black currents. The print is replete with nameplates of applied technologies, and on the reverse side a detailed specification is presented. The delivery set is standard: a microUSB cable for recharging and an AUX cable for wired connection.
Appearance and Ergonomics
JVC HA-S70BT-B are made in the form factor of on-ear headphones, the design looks elegant and lightweight. At the heart of a thin headband is a metal plate, height adjustment is available. A third of the surface is padded and sewn into leatherette, the rest is covered with plastic.
The cups are attached to the headband using gray plastic cylinders. The elongated shape, combined with a glossy finish, refers to the sea stones, which are equally neat and smooth. The only design element is the small brand logos on both sides and the NFC icon on the left. The cups rotate around the axis of attachment for a better fit and comfortable wearing on the neck.
Beautiful gloss goes into matte plastic at the ends. Ear pads repeat the shape of the ears and are sheathed with leatherette. In summer weather, your ears begin to sweat, you have to ventilate. The landing itself is soft, the design confidently rests on the head - a good urban option. But the pressure is not enough, I would like more passive sound insulation.
Foldable design, cups are cleaned in the headband. It is a pity there is no cover in the kit, because the cups have a glossy surface.
Management and connection
JVC HA-S70BT-B are equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 module with support for the basic SBC codec. For quick pairing, an NFC chip is provided on the left cup. Paired with the OnePlus 3T, the headphones display the level of charge with regular means. At the same time, the headphone volume lever does not adjust the level of the smartphone.
Functional elements are located on the right cup. Status indicator - typical two-tone. The Power key turns on and puts the headphones into pairing mode. The play / pause button also uses to switch tracks by double and triple tapping, hold starts the voice assistant. The last control element is a multifunctional slider. Its deviation up and down adjusts the volume, and pressing in the neutral position switches the sound modes. Only three: standard, low gain and clear sound.
The manufacturer claims up to 27 hours of battery life. When listening to music 2-3 hours a day, a full battery lasted for a week. Charging via microUSB port takes 3-3.5 hours. If the battery has run out, the headphones can be connected via AUX, the complete cable is equipped with a L-shaped connector, there is no control panel.
Dynamic emitters with a diameter of 40 mm are met by the averaged nature of sound, there is no extremely powerful bass or high-pitched high. Headphones delight with the volume of sound, as if there is a huge space around, and not compact wireless headphones.
Low frequencies sound restrained, first of all, due to insufficient fit (of course, it depends on the diameter of the skull). It is necessary to press the cups to your ears and switch the sound mode to low gain, as the bass becomes dense, the desired drive appears. The third mode “Pure Sound” completely eliminates the low ones, leaving only a good middle, which undoubtedly will be appreciated by lovers of calm genres.
Due to the peculiarities of the SBC codec, complex compositions lack detail. A wired connection corrects the situation, but we have a device for the mass consumer, which fully corresponds to the capabilities of a regular smartphone paired with a streaming service or music downloaded to MP3s.
It's nice to see that JVC continues to produce high-quality equipment with its own highlight. Headset HA-S70BT-B pleases with an interesting design, decent ergonomics and three sound modes. Yes, this is not an innovative development, rather a proven option for every day: for home, road and evening walk. The product pleases with an optimal price-performance ratio.
