On June 15, NEC Display Solutions introduced a series of large-format displays of the P and V series for Digital Signage on the Russian market, as well as the new PX803UL laser projector for educational institutions and corporations.
For the first time in the past few years, NEC Display Solutions held its press conference in Russia to share with us information about its latest news. Specially for this event, Antonio Zulianello , vice president of sales in EBBA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) arrived in Moscow. According to him, the NEC Corporation is one of the largest in Japan, but outside of its region it is not well known: approximately 80% of the products are produced for the "home" market.
Before releasing something “into the world”, NEC prefers to think carefully over what kind of product it will be and how it will stand out from the competition. That is why the company chose as its audience corporations and educational institutions that need screens and projectors for meetings, presentations, all kinds of public presentations of work in classrooms.
P and V Series Open Platform Displays
The range of professional displays P and V replenished with 6 models. New items support the NEC Open Modular intelligence (OMi) platform and are well suited to the needs of Digital Signage (digital signage, ads, video ads on monitors). As noted by Antonio Zulianello, ordinary advertising monitors no longer cause a special reaction, so you need something non-standard, with which you can interact. Therefore, to implement fully integrated solutions in these displays, you can easily embed Raspberry Pi computing modules or embedded computers - Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) Slot-in PC.
Each series of displays includes three 3 with a screen diagonal from 40 to 55 inches (P404, P484, P554 and V404, V484, V554). All of them are easily easily integrated into the environment thanks to the elegant design and are well suited for retail, leisure and museums, can be used as corporate information stands, to display information on transport, in fast-food restaurants and other public places.
The brightness of the new displays is enough to work even in bright light, and they are also equipped with anti-reflective coating - displays can be installed without problems even on the street. So for V-series models, the display brightness is between 500 cd / m², and for P-series - 700 cd / m². Displays of both series for effective reduction of reflection.
MultiSync P-Series and V-Series displays provide enhanced image performance with the SpectraView Engine, a color stabilization solution that delivers full control over brightness, color, image uniformity, and gamma parameters in flagship P-series displays to reliably produce accurate images. In addition, the combination of high color rendering performance, large viewing angles and hardware-calibrated 12-bit LUT tables (Look Up Tables) gives the user the benefits of consistent and accurate rendering, for example, when promoting a brand and attracting the attention of customers.
The new widescreen displays are easy to install and use, designed for 24/7 operation and mission-critical applications. Using the free NaViSet Administrator 2 software, companies can centrally manage all connected displays.
Professional laser projector PX803UL
Conventional tube projectors are becoming less and less popular, and their laser counterparts, on the contrary, are gaining popularity, as they can work at more convenient distances and are not so demanding on the level of illumination of the room.
The PX803UL is equipped with a professional blue-laser laser-LED light source combined with a unique high-quality phosphor disk. In addition, it does not need to replace filters, ensuring uninterrupted operation for 20,000 hours. Excellent cinematic image quality (we saw this at the presentation), especially on large screens, is provided by 4K signal processing, and the new optional ultra-short-focus lens makes it possible to use the projector even in small rooms.
It is noteworthy that the device compares favorably with a low total energy consumption, it is reliable enough, according to the manufacturer, does not need to frequently change “consumables” and produces an attractive “total cost of ownership”. These qualities will be appreciated by those who are going to install projectors in public places - in museums, schools, in advertising structures and so on.
MultiPresenter Stick MP10RX - Wireless Presentation Solution
The MultiPresenter Stick MP10RX is a small device designed for use with NEC projectors and widescreen displays that are not equipped with group presentation features. It connects to the HDMI port, complementing projectors or displays with support for wireless presentations.
The device is designed to work with various platforms and allows users to simultaneously hold presentations from personal devices, without connecting any cables and not limited to the scope of application of specific corporate equipment, that is, it becomes possible to implement the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiative. It’s very convenient: now you can avoid unnecessary fuss with flash drives, transferring information to official vehicles, which, according to the law of meanness, always refuses to accept any format, and other “dances with a tambourine”.
At offices or classrooms, users can use their free companion app (downloaded from the App Store and Google Play) to wirelessly connect their Windows, OS X, Android, or iOS devices to MultiPresenter. This solution allows you to connect multiple mobile devices to one MultiPresenter or one mobile device to multiple displays.
