Startup Village 2017 rushed rapidly, a two-day and, by the way, anniversary rally of young inventors and companies, organized by the Skolkovo Foundation and partners. Over the 5 years of its existence, SUV has become the largest and most respected startup conference for technology entrepreneurs in Russia and the CIS. Trashbox.ru, of course, visited there and prepared photographs and videos of the most interesting projects in our opinion, as well as just live pictures from the scene.
Startup Village 2017 visited by 20,000 people from more than 80 countries. Lectures in the style of TED, pitch sessions, business trainings, mentoring sessions and industry discussions with the participation of legends of technological entrepreneurship and business leaders were held on the site. A total of 42 sessions were held, 379 speakers spoke, of which 120 were foreign guests. 150 projects of Russian and foreign startups were exhibited at Startup Bazaar . Here we decided to highlight several particularly attractive projects.
Exorobotics company booth with ExoAtlet I attracted attention immediately. We were shown in action a domestic medical exoskeleton. It is intended for the rehabilitation of patients with locomotor disorders of the lower extremities, diseases of the musculoskeletal system or nervous system. You can engage in the apparatus for about an hour.
The brainchild of scientists at the Research Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University, by the way, won the 2014 SUV. Initially, the project was invented for emergency and rescue tasks, to extinguish fires, deal with rubble and carry heavy loads, but now Exorobotics is actively developing its medical product line.
A stop at a modular cabinet with a supercomputer from Immers was inevitable. Computing nodes, switches, storage systems and other related electronics installed on the base chassis with a pump group and a primary circuit heat exchanger work quietly under “water”. More precisely, the cabinet is filled with a special dielectric fluid, thanks to which Immers 8 R5 does not require additional air conditioners, drainage and air purification systems, and, importantly, specially prepared rooms. The system works for 3 years without problems (although it will easily last 5 years), then the company changes the liquid.
The inscription “Satellite quantum cryptography QSpace Technologies” above the stand made me stop and ask the guys for details. “The project aims to create a satellite-based laser terminal and a ground receiving station terminal for high-speed optical data transmission and a quantum secure communications system - quantum cryptography,” reads the goal of the project.
Creating a secure data channel in the light of the latest hacker attacks is a topic of particular relevance. The scientists of the Russian Quantum Center were the first in the world to not only develop, but also conducted “field” tests of the “quantum blockchain” technology - a special way of distributed storage and verification of data (especially financial and commercial), protected by quantum cryptography. The basic principle is “key distribution using single photons, which at the level of fundamental laws of physics guarantees the impossibility of interception”.
Passing by SC-tek
was difficult. Running through the brook on the fabric, as if on oilcloth, water is a spectacle that is highly “sticky”. The stand demonstrates new durable superhydrophobic and oleophobic coatings on the fabric. Unlike analogues, SC-tek technology is very environmentally friendly: the carbon dioxide used in the process is not released into the atmosphere, but is automatically cleaned by decompression and then compressed and reused. is definitely useful: a smart keychain with a diameter of about 3.5 cm is attached to any type of collar and allows you to monitor the location of the pet and its activity. Representatives of the company believe that their device has a wide potential for alternative use: the tracker can be equipped with a child or an elderly relative, the filling can, for example, be inserted into the watch. able to obtain an innovative multilayer metal substance. We were given the opportunity to hold a piece of this 4D carbon-carbon composite material
: it is amazingly light and surprisingly durable. Romet promises that the life of equipment made from this material will increase from 5 to 15 times.

AR / VR / MR ZONE
Startup Village brought together the top 20 Russian technology companies with more than 30 solutions in the fields of virtual, augmented and mixed reality: industrial simulators and simulators, games, educational courses, a new media format for storytelling and video in virtual reality, attractions with an exo-capsule, a climbing wall, a VR helmet and even a Russian mobile VR tracking system! For all this, a separate tent was allocated.

On the same lawn, we stumbled upon a new manned Scorpion-3 hoverbike
from the Russian company Hoversurf
- the second and most recent prototype of the company. Last summer, they were the first in the world to safely fly an electric quadrocopter with a man on board. The unusual aircraft operates on a unique copyrighted software that controls the altitude and speed of movement, ensuring a safe ride. You can control both in manual and automatic mode. It is a pity we were not able to see the tests.
Among other things, a dozen interesting special projects took place on the site, such as the short film festival, the hackathon of Sberbank, a test drive of the new BMW, the AR / VR zone, very young innovators took place at SUV Junior, the basics of technological entrepreneurship! With the help of SUV Matchmaking 1,500 business meetings took place.
For the first time, as part of large-scale excursions around the Innovation Center, 2,000 people saw not only the Skolkovo Technopark, but the whole Innograd, in full view. A strict jury watched hundreds of projects, 167 companies spoke at the conference and 30 went to the finals.
